Creating solid backgrounds for your text to pop

You want to give the same aesthetic to the sequence of Stories you are posting on Instagram. However, sometimes you need to interrupt that sequence with a CTA (call to action). You can create a solid background. This background can be based on the color palette you have used in the previous Stories. Now, you can make your next pop.

Here is how you can do that:

  • Select a photo from Photo Library or take one using the camera.
  • Go to the drawing pencil icon and click on it.
  • Hover over the color you want.
  • Now tap and hold your finger. This will change the background to a solid, monochrome color.
  • Now you can write a call to action.

Using some extra colors from the color selection

There is a basic 27-color palette offered by Instagram Stories. However, these are not the only colors available in the world.

Here is how you can use extra colors:

  • Go to the drawing pencil icon and click on it.
  • Tap and hold your finger on any color and you will find that a bigger palette pops up.
  • Move your finger side to side and select the color you want.

Using color palette of your picture for fun letter background

If you are posting a photo on Instagram, you can use its color palette and create unique backgrounds for your fonts.

Here’s how you can do that:

  • Select a picture.
  • Go to the top right corner and click the ‘text icon’.
  • Type the first letter.
  • Go to the top left corner and click on the icon to add the background to the letter.
  • See the tool pop up by clicking the drawing pen icon.
  • Now move the tool around the picture and see the background of the letter change.
  • After selecting a background color for the first letter, select the background color for the next letter in a similar manner.

Using 3D effect

Even when there is not any 3D effect on Stories available, you can use 3D effect. Here is how:

  • Click on the drawing pen icon.
  • Tap the word and choose one of the available fonts.
  • Pick a color and place the text on the image.
  • Use the same font but different color to write the same word.
  • Place the second word slightly to the side of the first word. Both words should overlap without affecting the readability.
