5 Types Of Ethnic Suits Every #DesiGirl Should Own

sareez October 20, 2017

Now all we Desi Girls love to be decked up in pretty Indian clothes, mix and match the accessories and rock on the world with our airy, comfy and flouncy attires. But most of us tend to stick to only those styles that we already know look good on us. So here we have come up with 5 types of modern suits that every Desi Girl must have in her closet. If you haven’t tried them on, it’s time you should. They are guaranteed to turn you into a Desi fashionista.

Patiala Suit

Patiala is not a new fashion discovery. They have been around since ages and its vogue picked up fairly recently. The style is easy, breezy and you can wear them both at formal events and at work or college.

This red and fuchsia embroidered patiala salwar kameez is the perfect example of how the suit’s style can be fun and ethnic at the same time.

Pant Salwar Kameez

Pant salwar kameez is the go-to outfit for office these days. The style is neat, modern and you can experiment with different bottoms or kurtis for the top. This baby blue coloured pant suit is one such example.

You can team up the yellow pant with any dark colour kurti for contrast or mix and match the kameez with patiala salwar to get a whole different look. One outfit, three styles – not bad at all, huh?

Palazzo Suits

Palazzo has been ruling the Indo-Western fashion scene for quite some time now. It’s easy and nonchalant style is the perfect accompaniment to add volume to suits and kurtas.

This black satin printed kameez with the basic red palazzo is just the thing you would need to wear to a party after work.

Dhoti Salwar

This traditional outfit is all in rage to win over the desi fashion scene. The dhoti suit style is playful (remember Kangana in Tanu Weds Manu?)

yet enough traditional to look beautiful at religious events.

Take this Chanderi silk voilet kameez paired with yellow dhoti pant for example. You can wear this to weddings and other traditional events.

Parallel Pant Salwar Kameez

Parallel pant salwars are basically gives an appearance of in-between pant salwars and palazzos. The style is more relaxed than pant salwar but gives a better fit flow than palazzo.

Like the rest two you can easily pair parallel salwar with kurti and long tops. Try to experiment with unusual cuts in kameez like the one in the picture.
