Five ways to fix windows update error easily:

rebeccarogers11 February 17, 2021

Everyone hates it when an update shows a glitch in between progress, and I’m very sure that every one of us has faced this situation at some point or the other. Whenever you’re using an internet connection, Windows informs you about the updates at a certain point in time. Click here ( https://validedge.com/atiedxx-exe/  ) to know four ways to fix errors. So here are a few tricks which you can apply while facing errors during updates.

1: Try to restart and reinstall updates: The best possible way anyone can get rid of update glitches is to restart their PC and reinstall the updates. Sometimes, the main cause of update failure is due to the presence of a previous update on the waiting list. So in order to solve the problem, the first update has to be installed first, and then the PC should be restarted and hence solved.

2: Windows Update Troubleshooter: When you purchase Windows 10 from Microsoft, you get a Windows Troubleshooter with it. While facing problems in updates, you’ll see a window that says “Fix windows update problem,” and it will take you to the windows troubleshooter. Troubleshooter takes the time of about a minute, and it helps in solving a wider range of problems.

After it detects the problem, it takes a maximum time of an hour to troubleshoot the problems, and wallah! Your update related problems are solved.

3: Delete Software Distribution Directory:  I was quite surprised to see the results when I used this technique. If your troubleshooter doesn’t work, you can use this method. It is used to avoid the time taken by the troubleshooter.

Simply start your PC in Safe Mode. Go to the Local Disk: C and check the Windows folder. Search for “SoftwareDistribution” and simply delete it. Alternatively, you can simply type RMDIR/S/Q in a command prompt, and it will simply delete all the files for you. After deletion, restart your machine and again start the updates. If you disabled the updates, don’t forget to turn it on before you run the updates.

4: Windows System File Checker: Everyone who is familiar with the System File Checker in Windows 7 or 8 can relate to this. If every other trick fails, this will work for sure.

First, you’ll need to open a Command Shell. Then type DISM/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth. It will take some time. After the tas is complete, now it’s time to run the SFC. In order to do that, just type SFC/scannow in the command window.

Once SFC is run out, CBS will run to check some errors to fix them. Now, the DISM and SFC run is complete, it’s time to reboot your machine, and I guess everything is fine now. You can install the updates after the successful reboot of your PC.

5: Download the latest feature update from Microsoft: I might suggest you bookmark the Download Windows 10 update page. This will help you.

If all the other things fail, simply download the updates from the Microsoft Official Website. If you’re using Microsoft Edge, the updates will be installed easily. After downloading the updates, simply install them, but I would suggest you restart your machine once before installing any of the updates.

Last but not least, it might sound hysterical, but still, you have an option to skip the update if you don’t want to spend your data. It might sound painful that you’re getting a suggestion like this after all these efforts, but it is also an option. Yes, you may skip the updates and run them afterward as per your needs.

Problems Faced

The main problems which we face during the installation of Windows Updates are due to poor internet connections, incomplete installation of previous updates, any kind of malware or spyware in your machine, and a few others. In fact, many people lose their patience when Updates take more than an hour. Sometimes it takes a single day to complete, and we keep on waiting.

Here’s a tip: Don’t ever turn off your machine in between updates. This may affect your settings, and you may face problems in performing future updates. Few things to make sure of whenever you’re running an update for Windows: Use a better internet connection in order to avoid a more time-consuming process. Remember to clear all the previous updates before installing the new ones.

Always use troubleshooting whenever facing problems initially. Restarting your machine might not be the all-time solution so search for other options, and never, never ever contact any online customer service which asks for online payments to fix your PC via software like TeamViewer and others. DOn’t fall into these scams.
