  • Any particular printer or printer driver issues of the system.
  • If Windows updates are not installed successfully or correctly.
  • Antivirus is not properly configured to exclude or eliminate the Sage files.

How to Resolve Sage 50 Server Busy Error:

There are four methods to resolve the Sage 50 Server Busy Error and they are listed below:

Method 1: Install Windows Update, Reboot Your System, and Login into the System as Administrator

  • Firstly, ensure that you have checked and installed any required windows updates.
  • All running software should be closed including the Sage Payroll.
  • After that, press the Windows + R keys on the keyboard.
  • Next, you need to type ‘wuapp’ and then press the OK tab.
  • After that, click on the option “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update”
  • Next, you need to perform on screen instructions to download and install all the available updates.
  • Lastly, you need to restart your system and log on into it as a Windows Administrator.
  • You can repeat the steps from 2 to 5 until and unless there are no further updates to install.

Method 2 : Configure Your Antivirus to Exclude or Eliminate the Sage Payroll Files

You must adjust your antivirus program to exclude all the Sage files to stop the error notification from popping up on the screen again in the future. Using the steps below, you will be able to identify the folders and files that Sage Payroll uses in order to exclude them from your antivirus software’s regular scanning routine. This in turn, aids in improving the performance of Sage Payroll as well.

To identify your Sage Payroll Application and Data Directories, Follow the steps below:

  • Open Sage Payroll and log into payroll as usual
  • Click on Help >>> System information on the Menu bar
  • Go to Program details, make a note of the Program Directory and Data Directory links

Method 3: Run the Sage Payroll as an administrator

Windows 10:-

  • You need to right click on the Sage Payroll relevant tax year option, followed by left click on properties
  • Click on the Compatibility tab
  • Choose the check box named “Run this program as an Administrator”
  • Click on Apply and then hit the OK tab

Windows 8:-

  • You need to right click on the Sage Payroll relevant tax year option, followed by left click on properties
  • Click on Compatibility tab
  • Choose the check box named “Run this program as an Administrator”
  • Click on Apply and then hit the OK tab

 Windows 7:-

  • Open your desktop and right click on the relevant tax year option of the Sage Payroll followed by left clicking on Properties
  • Click on Shortcut Tab and then click on “Advanced”
  • Choose the check box named “Run this program as an Administrator”
  • Click on the  OK tab twice followed by “Yes”

Windows Vista:-

  • Open your desktop and right click on the relevant tax year option of the Sage Payroll followed by left clicking on Properties
  • Click on the  Shortcut Tab and then click on “Advanced”
  • Choose the check box named “Run this program as an Administrator”
  • Click on the  OK tab twice followed by “Continue”

Method 4: Download and Install the latest Update of the Sage Payroll
